On Saturday, May 22, 2010 the Episcopal Church Women presented an outstanding celebration of women at the church of the Epiphany on 105 Main Street in Orange New Jersey. The Reverend Miguelina Espinal, Priest –in-Charge at the Church of the Epiphany and The Reverend Canon Doctor Sandye A. Wilson Rector of Saint Andrew and Holy Communion Church were the celebrants for the Holy Communion.
The theme for the service was” Women in Crisis: Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence” The congregation was mesmerized by the outstanding words of Reverend Canon Doctor Sandye A. Wilson the guest speaker . Dr. Sandye Wilson combined the spiritual and the facts brilliantly as she inspired the women to take action on behalf of those in such devastating positions in their lives. The homily was moving as well as informational as Dr Wilson told the facts of such violence and devastation in our own mist.
The worship service was uplifted by the beautiful musical offering “I waited for the Lord| by Mendelssohn. The duet was presented by Ms Lauren Harrison and her sister Mrs. Adrianne Harrison -Surgeon. The guest organist Dr. Ina Brown Woodson accompanied the duet and provided the music for the entire service.
The Holy Communion service was followed by the presentation of two outstanding women honored for their dedication to the work for the glory of God, Mrs. Joan Piggot and Ms Shelley Howell.
The service was followed by a joyful reception and everyone participated in fellowship as they were inspired and revived.
