Each year the report from the Vacation Bible School participants is that the program was the 'best'.
This year is no different. VBS was held from July 19th through July 25th. Saturday and Sunday were added to the schedule this year. The theme of the week was “Step up and Go Green for Jesus”. Parents and families of the children were invited to attend the service on the July 25th and to view the pictures taken during the week. They also witnessed the children and volunteers receiving congratulatory certificates and joined the congregation in the church picnic immediately following the service.
The curriculum for the week was based on scripture which emphasized taking care of the earth in ways that would be pleasing to God. Some of the lesson titles included.....”Praise God”, “Believe God”, “ Eat Right”, “Drink Up”, “Work Hard”, and “Take Care”. The lessons were reinforced daily by stories, crafts, activities and music that would help the participants remember the scripture of the day. After lunch each day, the children would eagerly participate in answering Rev. Lina's questions, sharing what they had learned.
Thirty-six youngsters were registered in the program. Seventeen volunteers participated. Four of Epiphany's youth who assisted in making the VBS a success included Biancia Malone, Rachel Reid,
Codey Piggot, and Sheldon Piggot.
Mrs. Claudette Thomas and Ms. Rosa Jackson were the Co-coordinators of the program. Thanks be to God for all of the volunteers who gave of their time and talent for the week. Congratulations for a job well done!
