On a very cold December afternoon, our Parish Hall was filled with the sights and sounds of the Christmas holiday. An annual program sponsored by The Episcopal Church of Women (ECW) featured The Jackson Academy..... Choir/Chorus from East Orange, NJ. "The Spirited Youth" totaling 30 students joyously presented a variety of holiday songs and dances. Their enthusiasm and vocals were well received by parents, guest and parishioners.
This event is scheduled every year. It had been a part of our church history for over forty years. Many of it's senior members are still active in the group, and we continue to seek women to be part of this growing organization. This years event was coordinated by Grace Livingston, Gwen Cottingham and Velora Reynolds. All members wore their "tea bells" during the affair. Some prepared the trays of food, others kept the boutique stocked and other members participated in the skits and songs that remind us about the true meaning of the holiday. Our Priest Rev. Miguelina Howell opened and closed the program with a prayer. A joyous occasion was had by all........ ooops almost forgot...... save the date for next December..... 2011 !!!
